Law Journal

The Law Journal is an exclusively student-run enterprise which helps improve academic writing and legal knowledge for students with and without legal background. It gives members the opportunity to show off their academic essays writing skills they possesses, as well as informing other students on a variety of legal topics. Students can explore a legal interest and develop their academic skills with support from the Law Journal Coordinator and the Law Committee. The winner of this competition shall receive a place on the VAT scheme at Rollits which is one of the big six law firms in hull. Essays should be emailed in in order to be reviewed. This is an amazing opportunity to develop and explore your legal interest, as well as getting your work published to add flavour and boost your CV.

BE A MEMBER OF THE EDITORIAL COMMITTEE

There are vacancies available on the Law Journal Editorial Committee.

 

The role includes:

  • Reading and assessing essays for quality and standard.

  • Discussing the direction of the Journal in regular meetings.

  • Working close together as a team to ensure the Journal's success.

  • Design and promotion.

Committee members must:

  • Be committed to moving the journal in the direction which it hopes to take

  • Adhere to confidentiality

  • Be objective and unbiased in their decisions

  • Constructively criticise work and make tough decisions as to who's work is published.
